The recognition of the contribution of the social and solidarity economy to decent work and fundamental rights at work, poverty reduction and social transformation and inclusion was recognized by the UN itself last April in its resolution “Promoting the social and solidarity economy for sustainable development”. recognition of this economic model for the achievement and localization of the Sustainable Development Goals. It also highlights the role that the social and solidarity-based economy can play in enhancing the potential of enterprises and entrepreneurship, enhancing productivity and competitiveness, and facilitating access to finance, markets and other business development services.

In order to be able to measure these contributions, the reference network of this more social, sustainable and solidarity-based economic model, REAS RdR, has been developing for almost a decade its Social Audit/Balance tool, a practice of corporate transparency and measurement of social and environmental impact that is collected annually in an Aggregated Report at the level of the Spanish State that collects the activity of hundreds of companies and thousands of people who make up the Social Economy and Solidary.

On 22 November, as part of the events of the Capital of the Social Economy that takes place this year in San Sebastián, took place the Presentation of the report: “The Social and Solidarity Economy in the State”, which announces the results of the 2023 social audit of the 641 companies that participated in this year’s campaign.

This application is widely recognized as an innovative practice of impact measurement, not only at the national level but also internationally, presented at meetings and forums of all kinds, so we are facing one of the most important events of the Year of the Solidarity Economy in the country. This year’s campaign also reveals for the ninth consecutive year its annual growth, both in the data it presents and in the number of entities that carry it out, consolidating this tool as a reference in terms of transparency and commercial guarantees.
