On 8, 9 and 10 September 2011, Barcelona hosted the Founding Congress of the Intercontinental Network for the Promotion of the Social and Solidarity Economy: RIPESS Europe. The Congress was organised and hosted by XES, the Solidarity Economy Network of Catalonia. The event brought together 136 representatives of the Social and Solidarity Economy from all over Europe.
