“Innovating responsibly: cooperative digital platforms” is a short course divided into two modules (of 3 months each).
Why this course?
For more than 3 years the INESS team (think tank in Innovation, Digital and Social & Solidarity Economy, Institut Mines-Télécom -IMT) and Plateformes en Communs – PEC (working group of the association La Coop des Communs) have been working on digital social innovations. They organise events such as the Forum des plateformes coopératives to strengthen the ecosystem and gain visibility.
Following their partnership with the international Platform Cooperative Consortium movement, PEC and INESS accompanied a small group of platform project leaders in 2020.
In the context of this collaboration, PEC and INESS have observed :
- A lack of information among employees and managers about the SSE, the commons and more specifically about digital cooperative platforms;
- A lack of support for entrepreneurs who want to combine SSE, commons and digital.
Building on the work carried out in recent years, the ITM School of Management (ITM-BS, via the INESS team) and PEC are proposing a specific support course on cooperative digital platforms from March 2022.

Note:
The Platform Cooperative Consortium is a hub that helps you start, grow, or convert to platform co-ops.
Platform cooperatives are businesses that use a website, mobile app, or protocol to sell goods or services. They rely on democratic decision-making and shared ownership of the platform by workers and users.
