Article by Laure Hubert-Rodier, UFISC

Because it is more necessary than ever to mobilize in favor of ecology and therefore to promote our social and solidarity economy initiatives in culture!

We invite you to participate in an online survey to promote your practices and your specificities, to report your difficulties, and to allow us to build appropriate support and advocacy actions around the ecological practices of cultural and artistic structures in Europe.

Analysis of ecological practices in the cultural sector in Eruope

UFISC and its members, in partnership with the Sorbonne Nouvelle University and La Main, Foncièrement Culturelle, are carrying out the ECO-ART research project.
This research is backed by a European project ALTER-PLACES as part of the Creative Europe program and will allow a cross-look with the practices of structures in Europe!
It aims to identify and characterize the ecological practices of artistic and cultural structures, as well as to analyze their local development conditions and territorial disparities in terms of access to resources.

The objective of the ECO-ART project is to identify ecological approaches by highlighting the conditions for the spread of practices from one artistic and cultural structure to another, according to their geographical location, economic models, budgetary means and own resources.

The online questionnaire, supplemented by case studies, will make it possible to:

  • To map the ecological practices of artistic and cultural structures.
  • Identify the conditions of spin-offs and territorial disparities in terms of access to resources.
  • To bring public policy proposals to the Ministry of Culture, local authorities, etc.
  • To promote the practices, approaches and artistic and cultural structures that support them.
  • To publish scientific articles supported by the Sorbonne Nouvelle on the issue of the ecological transition of artistic and cultural structures in France and Europe.
