In 2021, Ripess Europe celebrates its 10th anniversary!

As part of this celebration, and in order to honour the network and its members in particular, Ripess Europe will be conducting interviews, throughout the year, with the people who have brought it to life since its creation. Follow us on this European tour of the network’s members!

This time, we have an appointment with Martin Georges from ESS’plicite (France), a new member of Ripess Europe who joined us in 2020.

Hello Martin, can you tell us a bit more about your organisation?

ESSplicite federates SSE training courses in New Aquitaine in conjunction with the sector’s players, raises awareness of this theme among young people and helps them to carry out their projects.

The association participates in the regional strategy to raise awareness of the SSE among young people in partnership with the N-A region, ESPER and the structures of the territory concerned. The principle is to share and mutualise the approaches, particularly on interventions in secondary schools.

Essplicite organises various recurring and one-off events such as coffee debates, conferences, webinars, etc. The flagship event of the year is a hackathon: “The 24h of Social and Environmental Innovation. The aim is to help young people imagine common projects by encouraging transdisciplinarity, and thus to encourage meetings and links between SSE actors, projects and motivated young people.

What does it mean for you to be a member of Ripess Eu?

We joined Ripess Eu at the end of 2020 in order to pool our skills and knowledge. We are keen to collaborate with the different actors of the social and solidarity economy in order to move forward together towards a better world.

If you had to choose one memory since your integration, what would it be?

The particular context did not allow the association to invest as it wanted in 2021… However, we are following the news of Ripess Eu closely! Also, a new promotion (and therefore a new ESS’plicite team) will arrive in September!
