The United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) has unveiled an open, online package to raise awareness of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE). This comprehensive tool is designed to empower a wide range of stakeholders, including UN Member States, intergovernmental bodies, United Nations entities, regional organizations, policymakers, academia, think tanks, development banks, civil society, the private sector, and media.

Developed by ITCILO and ILO with funding from the Luxembourg government, this package offers a clear introduction to the fundamental concepts and practices of the SSE and demonstrates its pivotal role in promoting inclusive and sustainable development. The modules were enhanced through a collaborative effort, incorporating valuable feedback from UNTFSSE members and observers.

The package comprises four modules:

Module 1 – The SSE as a game changer: understanding the concept and its building blocks.
Module 2 – The role of the SSE for achieving inclusive and sustainable development.
Module 3 – The social and solidarity economy as a tool for decent work and inclusion.
Module 4 – Follow-up to the resolution on decent work and the social and solidarity economy.
The four modules are accessible in Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish further expanding their reach and impact.

Modules 1 and 2 are also available in Turkish as well as Korean, Swahili, Wolof and Yoruba.
