RIPESS Europe took part in the editiorial board of a year long participatory policy positioning process organised and facilitated by Ecolise on Just and Sustainable Food Systems. Through a series of dialogues, obstacles and opportunies were identified which community led initiatives face when working towards food system change. In this manner a set of EU recommendations were created, which in turn wants to impact the implementation of the Vision for Agriculture and Food, published in February 2025, and other agri-food related strategies.
The process culminated in a policy recommendations paper and a policy dialogue in November 2025 in Brussels, hosted by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). In the two rounds of dialogue around food organised by Ecolise adressed were: How EU policy can better support care for land, soil, and farmers, drawing on case studies that highlight agroecological practices and land stewardship and How commons-based food economies can deliver food justice and build resilience, with examples of cooperative models and community food governance.

Next, the Ecolise and partners policy positioning process continues with the online event “Food Democracy in Practice – Commons Governance, Bioregional Partnerships, and the Right to Food. Communities for Future. Good food for all, which at the same time marks also for Ecolise the launch of its campaigning for the GoodFood4All campaign ECI.
