Highlighting the SSE’s transformative ability to mobilize communities and connect North–South social debates, expert contributors analyse current arguments spanning tensions in hybrid organizations, internationalization, and networks and ecosystems governance.”

In “Co-operatives: Linking practice and theory” the SSE form of cooperatives is flashed out upon. “What are co-operatives, and why do they exist? What’s the difference between a co-operative and an investor-owned firm, or between a co-operative and social enterprise? Do co-operatives work, and are they political? Policy makers, researchers, academics and practitioners looking to expand their understanding of co-operative forms and structures, and the broader co-operative movement, will find answers to these questions and more”

Of course, also on Socioeco.org it is visible, from new entries, that there remains ‘much to do around food’ in light of the potential for systemic change offered by a changing for our food systems, and two articles from Greece were added onto Socioeco.org focusing on food this month : “Alternative Food Networks in Thessaloniki: Does sustainability go through the stomach?”, as well as “The Interconnection between Ecology and Direct Democracy in Alternative Food Networks”. “The literature of
Alternative Food Networks has engaged with ecological practices as well as decision-making. Nevertheless, it usually approaches ecology and democracy in Alternative Food Networks separately or as a sum of good practices, thus neglecting their interaction. The present article proposes a holistic approach of these practices under the lens of degrowth and post-development.”

Also added onto Socioeco this month, is an article going back over the history of the coming to the adoption of the UN Resolution by also revisiting the history of RIPESS as a global movement for Solidarity economy – How 25 years of solidarity resulted in the adoption of the UN Resolution A/RES/77/281”. This paper argues that it is an underlying spirit of solidarity that facilitated the creation of an ecosystem of like-minded actors from UN agencies, governments and civil society that rendered possible a collective journey towards adoption of UN General Assembly Resolution A/RES/71/281 on “Promoting the social and solidarity economy for sustainable development” of April 2023, and some multilateral and other advances for SSE since then.”

The above are resources recently put up on Socioeco.org.
