{"id":30927,"date":"2022-05-30T13:31:32","date_gmt":"2022-05-30T12:31:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ripess.eu\/?p=30927"},"modified":"2022-05-31T13:29:54","modified_gmt":"2022-05-31T12:29:54","slug":"statement-pesticide-use-in-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ripess.eu\/en\/statement-pesticide-use-in-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"Statement: Pesticide use in Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"submitted\"><em>Submitted by P<span class=\"username\" xml:lang=\"\">an Europe<\/span> on May 30th, 2022<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"content\">\n<div class=\"field-body\">\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><strong>More than 60 organisations, including Eureau, EFFAT and SumOfUS express their deep concerns about the direction the negotiations within Trilogues (1) are taking on the <a href=\"https:\/\/oeil.secure.europarl.europa.eu\/oeil\/popups\/ficheprocedure.do?reference=2021\/0020(COD)&amp;l=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-extlink=\"\">reform of the agriculture statistics regulation (SAIO)<\/a>. To ensure that European agriculture shifts away from pesticide-intensive practices, we need precise public data on what pesticides are used where, when, on which crops and in what quantities.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pan-europe.info\/sites\/pan-europe.info\/files\/public\/resources\/Letters\/Open%20letter%2079%20organisations%20on%20the%20EU%20reform%20of%20pesticides%20statistics%2025.02.2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">open letter<\/a> was sent in February this year, signed by 78 organisations, to EVP Timmermans, Commissioners, French Minister and statistical offices explaining how the proposed compromise would reflect on achieving the European Green Deal goals, and asked for a better data collection system.
