The World Social Forum of Transformative Economies continues:

We continue to work to address the most urgent challenges of a world in the midst of reconfiguration

Once again, organizations, social movements, collectives and individuals from Transformative Economies from all over the world will meet in a virtual format in a new stage that will take place from October 23 to November 22. This time, the Forum will be framed in the FESC (Fira d’Economic Solidària de Catalunya) an event that in recent years has brought together 15,000 persons in Barcelona.

The different confluences of the WSFTE and other organisations will meet throughout these days in what we have been calling inter-movement spaces to build the agenda of Transformative Economies that will try to respond to the global challenges generated by the market economy. This agenda will also be a means of articulation with other thematic Social Forums and with the World Social Forum.

We Accept the Challenge: Present your initiative

But in addition, throughout the proposed calendar, it will be presented “We accept the challenge”, a call that materializes in the possibility to present initiatives from the different organizations. These initiatives are defined as struggles, campaigns, projects, policies and practices that reflect the search for transformative economies, in its broadest sense. These initiatives should be grouped in one of the 4 dimensions to be transformed:

-Sociopolitics
-Economic
-Environmental

-Technology and knowledge

You can register your initiative and consult more detailed information about the process HERE

Once the initiative has been registered, it will become visible in the Virtual Forum, and then it will enter a selection process. On the one hand, there will be a popular vote and on the other hand, there will be an International Selection Committee. The 15 initiatives that receive more votes will be offered an opportunity for exchange in the form of sponsorship – north / south, south / north – that guarantees the knowledge and mutual help, with the human and economic resources necessaries. The sponsored initiatives will participate in the program of the WSFTE 2020 in October and November, being incorporated later to a digital publication.

The WSFTE is a process that has been building collectively for two years, we invite you to visit the Charter of Principles available on the website.

October will be a new open door to dialogue, cooperation and the construction of other possible worlds!
