SUMMARY:Advocacy Campaigning Training
DESCRIPTION:Communities for Future is committed to “System Change\, not Climate Change”\, but how are we making this change? \nA 2-day in-person training to connect and build our skills in advocating for community-led local development\, taking place in Belgium\, 14-15 March 2023 \nIn these times\, the capacities\, adaptation and resilience of regenerative communities are essential. Yet they need to become coherent and connected\, so local actions can emerge as a powerful social system (an eco-system network) with positive influence at a wider societal and political scale. Communities for Future invites those hungry for change to come together\, nourish our networks\, learn\, share experiences\, build capacity and co-create an advocacy campaign. If you don’t know what kind of advocacy campaigning is being done in your country for community-led initiatives or you think the current efforts are not enough\, do join forces with us! \nThis training will equip you with: \n– Understanding and integrating advocacy basics\n– Campaigning skills and resources\n– Embed you in a network of peers \nOn this training ECOLISE is collaborating with the Good Lobby to synergise with the ongoing policy consultation process. The focus is to embody the 10 Theses towards transformative community-led local development and make use of them for advocacy campaigning on European\, national and local levels. \nThe event and travels are fully funded for 20 participants and food costs are covered for 10 additional participants (ideally people from nearby). To apply for your place in this training\, please fill out this form before February 6th!\nhttps://bit.ly/Ecolise_Advocacy_Training\nYou’ll reach us for more info at info@ecolise.eu \nThe event would also have other training parts including team building and networking elements and a Community Climate Coaches (CCC) multiplier session (exact time yet to be confirmed). \n** More information: \nKoningsteen Center\nhttps://www.koningsteen.be/ \nThe Good Lobby\nhttps://www.thegoodlobby.eu/ \n10 Theses towards transformative community-led local development\nhttps://tinyurl.com/ttvnmu2d\n(System Change\, not Climate Change; pages 22 + 23) \nCommunity Climate Coaches\nhttps://communitiesforfuture.org/community-climate-coaches/ \nFb event: https://www.facebook.com/events/711113453862337

SUMMARY:SOCIAL ECONOMY CONFERENCE IN GOTHENBURG
DESCRIPTION:In connection with the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union\, the most important European players in the field of social economy gather in Gothenburg\,  at a conference highlighting the role of social economy in creating a stronger and more resilient Europe. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe “Social Economy 2023 – Building a stronger and resilient Europe“’ conference is planned in close cooperation with European experts and stakeholders\, and it will be focused on the Social Economy Action Plan and its implementation. It builds on last year’s Strasbourg conference “Social Economy – Future of Europe” which was included in the official program of the French Presidency and it bridges to the equivalent event to be held under the coming Spanish presidency in San Sebastian\, on 13-14 November 2023. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe conference also aims to highlight the circumstances around social economy in both southern and northern Europe\, thus providing a basis for Council’s further work in this sector. \nThe draft program will be published soon. \nDate: 8th of June 2023 at the School of Economics\, University of Gothenburg\, although parallel international meetings and events will take place on 7 and 9 June 2023 in the city. \nThe conference is organized by Coompanion in collaboration with Social Economy Europe\, REVES and CECOP. With support from the Region Västra Götaland\, School of Business\, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg and Fremia.

SUMMARY:CFF SESSION - Creating Regenerative Futures with your Local Council
DESCRIPTION:Join our next Communities for Future Sessions\, Tuesday\, Feb 28th\, 16h-18h CET. \n\nShowing successful stories of CLI’s working with local councils\nSharing tools & resources\nLinking to the policy thesis in the topic\n\n  \nSpeakers: \nTwo mayors/municipal servants: \n\nPaco García\, Almocita Mayor\, Andalucia\, Spain\nJoão Dinis\, Climate Action\, Cascais\, Portugal\n\n  \n2 CLI’s: \n\nCristiano Bottone\, Kunelab\, Monteveglio\, Italy\nAmy Scaife\, HubRen\, London\, UK\n\nCommunity-led initiatives and local authorities have shown fruitful collaboration but that’s far from being the dominant interaction between them. Local initiatives often struggle to have constructive partnerships with their municipalities or counties. And vice versa: a municipality can invite community-led initiatives to their projects and fail to gain their engagement. \nThere’s never a lack of crisis situations and the strong bond between local authorities and communities has proven to be essential for the constructive response to crises. Regions with such a tight bond have done better during the pandemic than those that failed to build bridges. \nThe ECOLISE team contributed to balancing the understanding of who initiates change. Communities are the drivers of change towards sustainability\, but hundreds of local authorities are just as engaged. \nClick here to register!

SUMMARY:Transition Pathway proximity & social economy - Call for pledges
DESCRIPTION:Following the publication of the Transition Pathway for the proximity and social economy industrial ecosystem on 14 November 2022\, the Commission launches a Call for pledges to stakeholders. This initiative is part of the updated EU Industrial policy and the European Social Economy Action Plan. \nThe purpose of the call is to collect pledges from stakeholders on the concrete actions that they will take in order to help achieve the shared action areas identified in the Transition Pathway. It is an important way in which we can showcase the eagerness of stakeholders to support the objectives of this Transition Pathway and their commitment to work together to support the twin transition of the ecosystem and strengthen its resilience. The pledges will help address gaps\, pool resources towards shared milestones and mobilise support at all levels. \nThe collected pledges will contribute to the co-implementation of the Transition Pathway. The Commission will work together with the stakeholders to support them in implementing their pledges\, facilitate exchanges of knowledge and best practices. \nThe initial deadline to submit pledges is 28 February 2023 as a first stock-taking wil take place. However\, the call will remain open on a rolling basis. You are invited to submit your pledges by using the template below.
